Junior Achievement of Rhode Island and Teach For America Rhode Island hosted a panel discussion with RI General Treasurer Seth Magaziner, RI Education Commissioner Dr. Ken Wagner, Providence Schools Superintendent Chris Maher, and Mt. Pleasant High School Principal Christoper Coleman on the need to improve the infrastructure of Rhode Island schools. The panel discussion was followed by a tour of Mt. Pleasant High School.

Members from JA's Board of Directors were joined by government, educational, and business leaders for JA Leaders Day at George J. West Elementary School in Providence.

U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse joined government and business leaders, as well as members of Junior Achievement and Teach For America's Board of Directors, at at the Fidelity Investments Campus in Smithfield, RI. They talked to students from the Governor Del Sesto Middle School in Providence about what they do as Senators, how government works, and the importance of financial literacy education. They also joined the students as they played the JA $mart Consumer Finance game, part of Financial Literacy Month.
