MArch 23, 2026 - JA Leaders day
Education Awareness Week began on March 23, 2026, with a JA in a Day event at George J. West Elementary School in Warwick.
JA Rhode Island board members and volunteers spent the day in classrooms, teaching students important lessons about how money works, the jobs that exist in their community, and how to start a business. In total 44 volunteers taught JA programs in 20 classes, benefitting over 400 students.
Special thanks to Superintendent Javier Montanez and Principal Lori Barkett-Farhat, and Casey Riley for joining us in the morning to welcome our volunteers to Hoxsie, and all the volunteers who gave up time in their busy schedules to help our young people succeed. Learn more about Leaders Day.
