JA Leaders Day Sign-Up Forms

Junior Achievement of Rhode Island (JA) and Teach For America (TFA) are pleased to once again come together for Education Awareness Week (EAW), taking place March 23-27, 2026. During Education Awareness Week, Rhode Island’s government, business, education, and community leaders are invited into the classroom to serve as guest teachers to highlight the needs of Rhode Island students and ensure that everyone receives an excellent education.

Below are the sign up forms for JA’s 11th annual JA Leaders Day at George J. West Elementary School in Providence on March 23, 2026. Please review the class schedules for the day to confirm your availability and guest volunteers.

Providence Public Schools requires all volunteers and guests to complete a basic RI state background check (BCI). You can obtain one with your state-issued license for $5 at the Attorney General's office from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at 4 Howard Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920. Junior Achievement can also obtain it on your behalf. To do so, you will need to send a notarized copy of the release form with Junior Achievement listed as the entity and a photocopy of the front and back of your ID to Sara Hutchings-Schwartz at sara.schwartz@ja.org by Monday, March 16, 2026. Your RI State BCI should be submitted to Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, not the school, no later than Friday, March 20, 2026. For more information about obtaining a BCI, please visit the RI Attorney General's website

If you have any questions, please contact Sara Hutchings-Schwartz at sara.schwartz@ja.org or 401-331-3850.
